Who We Are
Watering Day™

Watering Day™ was the name of our first product, now called the Scheduled System™ after being adapted as our company name. Here at Watering Day™, we strive to find solutions to make indoor plant/ houseplant watering as simple as possible so our customers can focus on what really matters: enjoying and reaping all the benefits of a home full of plants.

The History

In 2018, we found our love for indoor plants. Our collection grew rapidly to about 40-50 in total which made our home a beautiful jungle. However, we had and have busy lives, and 2 years later decided to develop a system for ourselves (we love a good system) wherein we would only water our plants every 2 weeks. Unfortunately, and as expected, not all our plants made it with this new system. However much to our delight, and also as expected, many did. We spent the following years testing into the most durable plants that are more than suitable on, and might even prefer, a 2 week watering schedule.

The original system (the Scheduled System™) stemmed from our own understanding of plants. We know many have the mechanics necessary to retain water and survive in extreme environments, much more-so than the environments of most homes. Spending our childhood in Colombia and Ecuador, seeing both desert and jungle climates, showed us many of our plants thriving in these extremes in the wild. While not all of the Scheduled System™ compatible plants are native to those regions, they are all extraordinarily durable with a few vital components around them.

An Unexpected Issue

But how do we water these plants the same amount of water every 2 weeks for years? From this problem came the invention of the OneWater System™. The patent pending OneWater System™ allows one instructed amount of water, every time you water, until repotting. It accounts for 1) the volume of the pot, 2) root growth taking up more space in the pot over time and 3) variation in soil densities. The OneWater System™ Riser, designed and assembled by our team in the United States, is the drainage spacer that is the key to the system: it provides space for increased runoff from the same water amount as roots gradually take up more space in the pot.
